Finding a Connection to God
1:18 June 2, 2011 There is a feeling of joy and warmth in the soul when you find your connection to God or a Greater Spirit, which is both fulfilling and indescribable. However, I fight many battles with myself to practice my deen, religion, and to become a devout Muslim. I yearn to be a person who can pray five times a day, no matter where, and to learn scriptures from the Quran, the holy book. Yet my selfish ways part me from connecting to my religion and lord. However, I learn to take things one day at a time. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not go through his voyage on this earth without experiencing lives turmoil and difficult, neither did Jesus nor any-other pious Prophet. Therefore, no person should feeling apprehensive of their faith, but, rather, embrace it everyday of their lives by remembering God and asking him for forgiveness and guidance. Indeed, we all face challenges in life how we deal and overcome these challenges are what define us. Nonetheless, I always remember God and the beauty of life he has blessed me with, to be able to wake up in the morning with food in my fridge, to have a mother to call, and the ability to learn and love. I always ask him to forgive me for my countless sins.
From a young age, I learned to love God and my religion and I’m thankful for my mother who has always reminded me of him and his blessings. In Islam it says, for men and women who engage much in remembering of Allah ‘God’ for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and a great reward; bring your Lord to remembrance in your (very) soul with humility and remember without loudness in words, in mornings and evenings and be not of those who are unheedful. The prophet said, the comparison of the one who remembers God and the one who does not is like that of the living and the dead. Conversely, if you believe in God, the unseen, the heavens/earth remember our Creator and remember to count your blessings! I hope in the near future I can say, “I’m a faithful Muslim who prays five times a day. Inshallah (if Allah wills)

Dear Love,
He walked into the room my eyes glued on to him.
He was like the perfect eye candy
Sexy and Shirtless to me
eyes watered words
Introductions.
I played it cool
I never make the first move.
Hi my name is Chris
Lila: Nice to meet you.
Chris: My friend mike says he goes to college with you ... You’re very beautiful and would love to get to know you. I’m leaving this party, I have work in the morning. However, here is my card ... we should have lunch soon.
A few weeks passed.
Our relationship blossomed like a teenage metal band
He---went straight for my heart; stole a precious jewel
He---said all the right things at the right times.
My wisdom and wittedness went out the door.
I was comfortable
showed him, my softest spots and created a flawless image of him.
Not realizing how much sex changes the dynamics of relationships.
I began to make “us” too much of what barely existed outside of the bedroom.
I wanted him; needed him.
around and inside me, at exactly the right moments.
I held on extra tight and he bolted away from me
Fed so much into him.
I was at a place I didn’t know why.
Starvation.
I found myself alone and confused in a corner
Could’ve died and been reincarnated with the wounds.
They cut so deep
Couldn’t recognize me
Couldn’t see deeper into me
Maybe if I slept with patience before I met Mr. scrumptious
love could’ve unwind its self and played soft melodies of sliding guitars and the songs of the ocean.
I learned through an abandon heart
Dear Love, I miss you ... or, so think I do.

Mystery
I look at her through a foggy lens and admired her beauty
Tangled with her in my dream
Held on to thoughts that man couldn’t understand
Asked her to reveal herself to me
Promised to nurture, love, and respect
Wondered.
When would I conquer this game of hide and seek.
Nevertheless, I'll wait for her; forever
For Life reveals herself gradually
Tangled with her in my dream
Held on to thoughts that man couldn’t understand
Asked her to reveal herself to me
Promised to nurture, love, and respect
Wondered.
When would I conquer this game of hide and seek.
Nevertheless, I'll wait for her; forever
For Life reveals herself gradually

How amazing are these?

The Osborn! These are bee-yooutiful and i been saying i have to get em for time now. However, I promised myself I would NOT
buy another pair of shoes for at least a year, my closet is sorta overflowing with shoes, but who am I kidding. When i saw the Osborn's, i think i fell in love with shoes all over again. They are made in Guatemala by local artisans, who hand cut every material on the shoe and sign/date every pair they make. How cool is that?

There is No 'Ground Zero Mosque'
"This is America, dammit! And in America when somebody comes for your neighbor, or their bible, or their Torah, or their Atheist manifesto or their Koran, you and I do what our fathers did and our grandmothers did and our founders did. You and I speak up!"
I haven't heard an American speak the truth like this in a long time.

WHO ARE YOU?
Being a musician, student, mother, or entrepreneur is not who we are but what we do. Many of us are not in tuned with our authentic selves. We are who the world has told us to be rather than who God has created us to be. Our society today reward conformity, and normal behaviors. Finding our true self has become an epidemic. A lot of the times we’re busy trying to fulfill the roles of our families rather than listening to ourselves and being conscious of our own self-talks. Awareness is the first step in creating process. Finding your authentic self means identifying your motives, emotions, and preferences. Learn to listen to your guts, stay in tune with your dreams & goals, express your true emotions and take risks in life. It’s a way to honor your self-development, improve your confidence and build your self-esteem. Your true self are the things that make you unique (strengths & weaknesses). A hunger for authenticity will guide you in every aspect of your life. Just allow people to accept you for who you are rather than carrying a heavy burden not feeling authentic.
Being authentically me, allows me to express my individuality and foster my growth. It enables me to follow my personal calling and to erase the layers of fear and guilt that have accumulated through the years.
By raising the burdens, healing the wounds and breaking the chains I become free. Free to enjoy the principle of being independent and self-reliant

Leap of faith
Winter 2009
I just dyed my hair dark brown and swore I wouldn't do nothing else to it (at least not till the summer). My hair pretty long soo it covers the short part in the back well. However, I'm not feeling the kitchen [lol] it's irritating the hell out of me right now. uggh! I'm sitting here contemplating a hair cut. Geee, gosh, I don't know if I wanna take that route again though.  .

I had a dream, falling off a cliff last night.
I had a dream, of having a girl last night.
